Japan to Remake Popular Thai BL for the First Time – Love in The Air

Love in The Air Koi – the Japanese remake of popular Thai BL Love in The Air

For the recent one year we have already seen Thai to remake Japanese BL series so far, for example we have seen Thai to recreate popular manga-based series Cherry Magic, which also did succeed in Thai remake Cherry Magic 2023. Next, another popular manga-based series MY Love Mix Up (Originally Kieta Hatsukoi) has got in the list of remakes of Thai played by Fourth Nattawat Jirochtikul and Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak, which recently finished its broadcasting. Also, another series has been taken in for production, originally called Ossan’s Love, which will be played by Earth Pirapit, Mix Sahaphap, and Krit Shahkrit in the centric role.

All the Japanese series remake has done by GMMTV till now, let us see whether in future other major talent agency or companies like GMMTV willing to get into this Japanese bl remake field or not.

But for now, it is Japan, who has entered the field of remake to play, with its first popular Thai series remake – Love in The Air, which will be known as Love in The Air Koi for the Japanese version, starring Shoma Nagumo as Arashi Hayase (Phayu), Takuto Hamaya as Rei (Rain), Asahi Suzuki as Fuma (Prapai) and Reo Nagatsuma as Kei (Sky). The drama is set to premiere very soon on 3rd of this November, Sunday.

Love in the air, originally a Thai novel combination of “Love Storm” and “Love Sky” written by MAME, a popular BL writer and Co-founder of the drama production company MeMindY, also famous for her popular work Love by Chance, TharnType and Don’t Say No. MAME’s novels are usually inter-connected with each other and set in the same universe.

As the story of the drama is a combination of two novels of the writer “Love Storm” and “Love Sky”, the story is directly connected with each other and follows one by one in the drama. The drama first starts with Rain and Phayu’s part of story and ends with Sky and Prapai’s story “Love Sky”.

Rain and Sky, freshers in college, studying architect are two best friends with each other, one day goes to an illegal car racing street sight on Rain’s demand to take revenge on a specific senior, which upsides down their whole life with a furious windy storm for the rest of their life, which hides nothing but an intense token of love. One meets with his future love of his life which starts off a payment for saving life, and one vows to make the senior fall in love with him instead of taking the said revenge.

In the original drama Phayu and Rain’s part was till half of episode 7 and and Prapai and Sky’s part started from the other half of the same episode and went on till 13, they had a special episode which results episode 14 in total for the original adaption.

Now, as for this Japanese remake, it is revealed that this drama – Love in the air Koi will have 8 episodes in total. At this moment, we are eagerly waiting to see how the Japanese version of the drama – Love in The Air actually turns out.

As far as we have seen, we can definitely doubtlessly say that, Japan really knows how to execute a drama well, from almost perfect casting to story execution to keeping the original touch and feel. And that’s what absolutely attracts the viewers without even Japan doing heavy promotions.

So far, from the fan’s reaction on all over the social medias, we can smoothly predict that this version too of Love in The Air is going to make everyone’s heart flatter in a flash, with its commendable casting of Shoma Nagumo as Arashi aka Phayu, whom we have already seen in a recent BL this year “At 25:00, in Akasaka”, besides he’s also quite a popular face in tiktok too.

Next up we have Ren aka the character of Rain from the original which will be played by Takuto Hamaya, who’s a part of Japanese idol boy group Kindan No Houteishiki. And then we have Asahi Suzuki as Fuma Originally Prapai, who’s a part of a boy group in Japan in the name of WATWING, and for the final main cast for Sky, here Kei will be played by Reo Nagatsuma sho’s as well is a part of a boy group in Japan, named 7ORDER.

The officials have recently released a right 30-second preview of the show on 25th October on all over their medias in Youtube and X (formerly Twitter).
