Three Japanese BLs from Japan within one month is all we need in August!
When it comes to creating the simplest yet exceptional high school BL drama with loads of overwhelming and intense feeling & emotion filled in, Japan ranks top out of all the Asian countries, which are in the list of producing consistent BLs throughout the year. Not only does it rank top again and again but it also leaves its traces in the hearts of the fans leaving them starving for the next already.
This August we are going to witness a back to back set of series from Japan, out of all of those, three Japanese BL has been announced, which are set in for a sweet high school romance, all set to premiere and run this coming month.
The three series is about to give you all, from satisfying directing to spotless acting by the stunning casts. Furthermore, we are going to have many fresh faces coming into BLs to known ones being back through these three new upcoming Japanese BLs.
Konishi Eito of Takara’s Treasure (2024) is getting paired up with vertical short BL drama series actor Gennouske in ‘After Moving Seats, the Boy Behind Me Has a Crush on Me’. Whereas, GNJB’s (Japanese Idol Group) Koizumi Kosaku is going to star in his first BL, Popular Seizawa Acts Weird Around Me opposite of short vertical BL series actor ‘My Idol Was Watching Me (2026).
Last but not the least, we have ‘Wait a Minute, Harutora-kun’ main cast starring Nakagawa Tsubasa and Sakuragi Masaya, partnering up for their first BL together as the main character of the series. Both the actors have previously been part of Japanese BLs like ‘Cosmetic Playlover Season 2’ and ‘School Trip: Joined a Group I’m Not Close to’ in vital support character’s roles.

The series ‘After Moving Seats, the Boy Behind Me Has a Crush on Me’, tells a heart-fluttering teen romance story of Mayama Haru and Asamiya Kosei. Haru, a kindhearted, lone boy in the class gets confessed to by ‘the’ most popular boy in the class, Kosei. On a fateful day, the class had a change in seating arrangement, in result, Haru and Kosei got seated in the same column, one after another, but that’s not the only thing there, there is more to it than that!
Haru gets bewildered upon seeing the confession written on the worksheet he got from the student behind, and it is from none other than ‘The Asamiya Kosei’, the most popular and handsome boy in the class and even in the school to say it.
Haru misunderstands that the confession might be intended for someone else and Haru had made it worse by standing in the way, gets to the direct answer from Kosei, himself, that the confession was actually meant for Haru, and only him. Still in denial Haru misunderstands its for a friendship confession, however Kosei is just right there, very determined, to make Haru believe otherwise, the truth.

‘A secret that cannot be told’, the loner boy of the class has held it in.
Popular Seizawa Acts Weird Around Me, another story with ‘lone boy in the class’ X ‘popular boy of the class’ trope series, where Suzuki Hajime, a loner, who writes a BL story on the most popular boy of the class Seizawa Haruto, gets discovered by the person himself. And, no, Hajime doesn’t get taunted or cornered because of it, instead, Haruto praises Hajime for his creativity with an unknown genuine smile on his face.
Following the incident, Hajime keeps on seeing Haruto everywhere he is, and his initiative towards including Hajime to his daily life. Unable to reason with Haruto’s behavior towards him, Hajime questions himself repeatedly. But not so shaken Haruto, vouches to not let Hajime go!
