Sui Gathers the Courage to Confess his Biggest Truth in Episode 7 of ‘Hold On, Harutora-Kun’
Sui encourages himself to confess his biggest truth in Episode 7 of ‘Hold On, Harutora-Kun’!
A handsome junior falling in love with an adorable senior, high-school drama series, ‘Hold On, Harutora-kun‘ is an adaptation of the manga series, “Chotto Matou yo, Harutora-kun” by Amekiri. The wholesome drama series which premiered in mid August, on 14, is near to its end with only three episodes remaining. Today, on September 25, the series had its seventh episode broadcast, opening with a cheerful-pleasing atmosphere ending on a tense cliffhanger!
‘Hold On, Harutora-kun’, a feel-good high-school romance drama starring Nakagawa Tsubasa (as Kishida Sui) and Sakuragi Masaya (as Kurobe Harutora) as the leads is directed by the same director of 2024’s popular Japanese BL, “Our Youth“, Shibata Keisuke. It tells the story of Kishida Sui, a shy-timid young boy in his sophomore year getting assigned to room with the charming first-year junior, Kurobe Harutora.

Episode 7 opens on a cheerful note with Harutora throwing a tantrum, complaining to Sui about his current roommate being pure nuisance. Harutora, who has been paired with in the new room is an extremely unorganized and awfully messy junior, who’s also super loud while playing games, basically a person Harutora cannot stay any longer, sharing a room with.
Seeing Harutora this upset and frustrated Sui tries to console him. Harutora then goes on promising Sui he would find a way to room again with his lover, Sui. And just as said, Harutora gets the work done.
Harutora manages to gather evidence as his reason for wanting to change rooms; he also successfully convinces Sui’s roommate to switch in his place to his previous room. And just like that, the two loverbirds finally breathed a sigh of relief being able to be together again, sharing a room like in the past.
In the next scene, Harutora and Sui are seen discussing their upcoming important events, which are the annual sports day event and Sui’s mother visiting Sui’s school for the parent-teacher discussion meeting on Sui’s college planning.
Excited, Harutora says he wants to drop by to greet Sui’s mother, however Harutora recalls he has his schedule packed up that day with his basketball practice, resulting in him being unable to visit Sui’s mother to say hello. Hearing Harutora won’t be able to meet his mother, Sui’s facial expression changes from tense to a state of relaxation.
Although Sui wants to make his dating with Harutora known to at least his close ones, it shows Sui is having hard time doing so in the first half of the episode. However, later in Episode 7 Sui acquires the courage to tell his mother about his biggest truth!
Harutora Introducing Sui to his Family
On the sports day, Sui comes face to face to the junior in front whom Sui was made fun of for his sexuality by his own classmate. Though Sui hesitated and felt anxious for being in the same space with the junior that moment, the boy apologized to Sui for his past behaviour. He also reveals how one day Harutora had scolded the boy for his poor behavior towards Sui just for his sexuality. Hearing Harutora take a stand for Sui even when the two were not even dating makes Sui feel proud of having Harutora as his boyfriend.
On the other hand, on the same day, Sui gets to know about another sweet side of Harutora. While, Harutora was chatting with his mother, Sui accidentally sees Harutora had sent a picture of Sui to his mother. Shocked, Sui asks Harutora about it. That’s when Harutora reveals he has already told his parents about Sui and their relationship. Overwhelmed with numerous fluttery emotions, a nervous smile finally creeps onto Sui’s face. Sui also tells Harutora about how great it feels to be accepted by the family of the person one likes.
The next day, Sui gets all dolled up for the video call to meet up with Harutora’s parents. And that’s when Sui realizes the reason behind Harutora’s sincerity and gentleness are actually an inheritance from his parents. Harutora’s mother, the sweet person she is, washes away all stressful tenseness that was on Sui before meeting her and getting to know her. Sui also gets invited to Harutora’s house by Harutora’s parents and siblings at the end of their video call conversation .
Sui Confessing his Biggest Truth to his Mother
At last, the long-awaited parents-teacher meet day occurs when Sui’s mother was supposed to make a visit to his school.
Just when Sui and his mother were getting out of the discussion room, Harutora suddenly appears in front of them to greet Sui’s mother and the two have a sweet little conversation right there. Harutora also leaves a nice first impression with his charming personality on Sui’s mother.
After talking to Harutora, the mother-son duo was having a chit-chat on their way home about the younger Sui, who suddenly took the decision to move away from home to the dorms for studies. She also tells Sui how she now feels way relieved seeing Sui happier and cheerful here.
Just when Sui’s mother was starting to talk on the topic of what Sui’s past crush is aware of, Sui intervenes to apologise about lying up until now and confesses his biggest truth, that he does not actually like girls, but boys.
And just like that the episode 7 of ‘Hold On, Harutora-Kun’ ends on a cliffhanger!
