Almost a month ago, on August 1, 2026, the masterpiece of a BL, ‘Payback’ had ended its airing after running straight for a total ten weeks, every Saturday on channel One31. The Thai BL gained tremendous positive reviews from both the fans and critics throughout its air, comtinued to rank at top on the streaming platform, achieved multiple milestones.
Originally announced on January 18, 2026 the makers of the series wasted no time in starting the production work for the series. Right the next day after the first official announcement of the series making, with the series title in a graphic poster, mentioning ‘coming soon’, the makers, cast & crew held the blessing ceremony of the series, on January 19, 2026.
Payback The Series — Making, About and Impact

Following the costume fitting on January 23, 2026 and script reading on January 31, the shooting for the series began around mid February this year. And finally, the official premiere date of the series was revealed with the unveiling of the first teaser on April 1, 2026, uncovering the first preview of the lavish meal that was waiting for the fans.
Right on the reveal of the first teaser, it was already predictable that the upcoming series is coming to secure a title of its own in the year of 2026. And exactly like that, the series, ‘Payback’ carried out its journey paying off the utmost justice to both, the original novel and the Manhwa (Webtoon) series the drama is based on.
Originally written by Korean Author Samk in 2010, and illustrated later in 2021 by Fujoking for Webtoon (Manhwa) adaptation, the story’s first ever live adaptation was made in Thailand, with multiple major companies collaborating for the project. It was an epic collaboration between Aplan International Group, Co., Ltd., Rakuten TV, Kidari Studio, and Copus Japan produced by Rise Up Production company.
The revenge story BL, ‘Payback’ was scripted by the popular Thai author and writer Sammon along with director and screenwriter Ki Amnat Taengsombun. It starred Min Thanakorn Wichanukhor, a former member of A:SIDE and Boys Planet 2023 contestant along Toptap Jarukit Kaewmoonrueang, who holds the title of ‘Mister Looker Thailand 2022’ in lead. The series also featured remarkable BL actors, such as Shogun Paramee Wichanukhor of ‘Deep Nights’ (2024) and Be On Cloud artist Fuaiz Thanawat Shinawatra of ‘Dead Friend Forvever — DFF’ (2024) in major roles along Khunnote Jirapat Uttamanan.

Directed by Woodie Pongchaiphat Sethanand, the incredible 2026 series, Payback’s story revolves around a core desire of revenge of the main character, Sun (Yohan).
Synopsis of ‘Payback’ (2026)

Sun (Yohan), who has a remorseful past walking along him like a shadow till date, used to believe he is the true reason behind his of loss of his younger brother and mother, until very recently he gets to know that there is another person who is the actual reason behind his misfortune, now is living his best life working in the entertainment industry.
Sun decides no matter what he would take down the man he once loved, the actual culprit of his greatest losses, Bank now known as Sunny from his status in the industry.
In the process of his revenge, Sun meets a mysterious-intimidating, charming man, who is at one of the top position of the same company Sunny is under, Jay, who promises to help him get his revenge.
The spectacular-entralling Thai BL of 2026, started its airing journey on May 30, 2026, captivated the hearts of thousands right on its premiere, kept on doing the same to many others of the BL fandom throughout its journey till the conclusion of its broadcast on August 1, 2026. The series, Payback, still holds a special place in the hearts of many BL fans and Thai BL fans even after the air ends. Additionally, the series is still bringing a lot of new watchers to its lists with each passing day.
