Studio Oak (OAK COMPANY) is back again with their new BL, ‘Summertime’ right after getting huge success with their last production of ‘The Prosecutor’s Proposal‘ (2026). Previously the entertainment agency and production company — OAK COMPANY has also produced other prominent BLs like ‘Thundercloud Rainstrom‘, ‘Ball Boy Tactics‘, and ‘Heart Stain‘ all in a single year, in 2025. This year too the broadcasting & media production company has already revealed its line-up. Out of which, one has already finished airing (The Prosecutor’s Proposal: June, 2026 – July 2026) and some are about to release one after another under popular Korean OTT platform Wavve.
On August 13, the official X handle of the production unveils the first look of the series. Studio Oak (X/Twitter handle of production company) releases both the official poster and trailer on the same day, along revealing the date the series is about to air to the fans.
About the series — Summertime (2026)
‘Summertime’ also goes by the name ‘Summer Season’, written by the author Iiromil, has previously been adapted for Manhwa (Korean webcomic) serialization, which ended its run in July, 2024, with a total of 53 chapters. The manhwa series started its publication back in 2022, it was illustrated by the artist, Minggur, and has gotten great recognition and success throughout its entire run.
Summertime, a ‘childhood friends to lovers’ love story follows the story of two childhood friends who have been together as long as they can remember. Nineteen years of them being together, both shared everything, from elementary to middle school and then eventually high school too, just like they are one family. But beneath the ‘family-like’ bond between the two of friends, there’s one who holds an unmeasurable obsession and desire for the other one.

Cha Do-hyun is as perfect as barely one could be, what does he not hold? Godly-like looks, amazing intelligence and someone who’s an ex medal holder of Taekwondo. Director’s background: The series under OAK COMPANY is being directed by the director of one of 2025’s KBL ‘Sweetheart Service’, Bae Yoon-Seo. Other than the BL ‘Sweetheart Service’, director Bae Yoon-Seo has also been an executive producer of the BL drama ‘Kiss Kiss Sxx’ (2025).
Cast announcement of ‘Summertime’
On August 5, Studio Oak, the official X (formerly twitter) account of the production house revealed the series’s first main cast, Kim Do-min, who’s going to play as Yeo Eun-ho. The rookie actor played the teenage version of Ju Tae-seon in ‘The Prosecutor’s Proposal’.
The next day after announcing the cast of Yeo Eun-ho, the officials released one more announcement of casting news for their other lead character, Cha Do-hyun’s cast, which would be played by another rookie actor Seong In-ho.
The series is soon going to air this month on August 28, 2026 on Wavve (Korean OTT platform). The international streaming platform for the series’ global streaming is yet to be announced by the officials.
